Today was one of those days.
I did not have any errands to run. No outdoor excursions. I had no planned visits with friends. No scheduled interactions with my clients.
I did not know how I could impact, inspire, ignite, or imagine change from inside my home. I was in for a challenge.
While in the shower – I thought of the elderly. The often forgotten. They have been on my mind recently. Particularily those in nursing homes. This sadens me. People who have contributed so much to our country. Have given so much of themselves for others during their long lives. I assume that even the ones with family who visit them regularily still long for daily interaction. Long for someone to talk to. Long for a change. Long for something out of the ordinary and routineness of the day.
And it hit me — today would be part one of a two-part project.
Part one (today): my daughter and I would make some Valentine’s.
Part 2 (first week of February): we would visit the nursing home that is literally walking distance from our house – and bring some joy with us as we passed out our little Valentine’s to the residents.
So part one is now complete. I am excited for part two.

Cooper and I would love to go with you! Young children can especially light up the elderly!
I’m proud of you for taking action, Ashley! I often think of “giving ideas” but I do not ACT on them.

I’m totally copying you on this one. Grace would love it! Let us know how the delivery goes next month!
