IGNITE – little people

I love kids.  I love playing with them.  I love caring for them.  I love teaching them.  They are just so darn cute.

A few months ago, I received several phone calls from our church asking if I would help out in the pre-school area on Sunday mornings.  To be honest, I didn’t want to.  Even though I love kids, I just didn’t want to.  I didn’t want to change my schedule.  I didn’t want to deal with the unknown.  I didn’t want to be depended on.  But over the next few weeks I felt a huge tug, a feeling that despite my own lack of desire – I needed to serve.  So I called up our church and said that I’d love to help out.  Of course they were grateful and today marked my 4th Sunday.  Although I may not want to go every other week, I know that I need to.

Today I got to teach my kids (2 and a half year olds) about how the Wise Men found Jesus – Matthew 2:1-12.  It warms my heart to listen to the kids talk about Jesus and I know that what I’m doing is good.  I desire that each of them knows and loves Jesus.
